Headquarters (Rolling Meadows, IL)

The Komatsu America Corp. (KAC) Headquarters is located in Rolling Meadows, Illinois (about 20 miles West of downtown Chicago). Departments represented at this location include, but are not limited to, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, IT, Legal, Parts, Product Marketing, Tax, Treasury, Komatsu Financial, and Service. Komatsu has a strong belief in the importance of collaborating cross functionally and employees located in Rolling Meadows often work with departments in our other locations.

Our Headquarters has approximately 250 employees within a three building office complex that offers such amenities as a health club, cafeteria, dry cleaner, bank, and travel agency.

Arizona Proving Grounds (Sahuarita, AZ)

The Arizona Proving Grounds is located at the old Twin Buttes Mine in Sahuarita, Arizona. The facility is an open pit copper mine that has been closed for over 20 years. Komatsu leases over 1,400 acres of this property to perform engineering test activities on our products, primarily the rigid chassis mining trucks. The Arizona Proving Grounds is responsible for analyzing every component on prototype machines before they go to production. The Proving Grounds evaluates model changes and investigates customer problems. Proving Grounds personnel are responsible for engineering field tests at customer sites worldwide.

Chattanooga Manufacturing Operation (Chattanooga, TN)

The Chattanooga Manufacturing plant opened in February of 1985 establishing Chattanooga's first Japanese manufacturing plant. We produce medium size Hydraulic Excavators, Articulated Dump Trucks and Forestry equipment. The facility is also home for the United States Technical Center for new state-of-the-art product design and development.

The Chattanooga Manufacturing Operation's success is founded upon a philosophy that includes not only the manufacture of high quality and competitive products to achieve maximum customer satisfaction. It focuses special attention also on our people, and upon increasing involvement in, and support of, many different worthwhile areas in the life of the community of which we are a part. Our sponsorship of an exhibit in the world-acclaimed Tennessee Aquarium is only one example.

Komatsu Training and Demonstration Center (Cartersville, GA)

The Komatsu Training and Demonstration Center is a state-of-the-art training and demonstration facility conveniently located 35 miles from Atlanta, GA and 75 miles from our manufacturing facility in Chattanooga, TN. It houses 5 classrooms, a 150 seat auditorium, 20,000 sq. ft. shop, and a 35-acre demonstration center.

Komatsu Newberry Manufacturing Operation (Newberry, SC)

Newberry Manufacturing Operations (NMO), located in Newberry SC, conducted the groundbreaking ceremony in March 2001. NMO hired the 1st 50 employees in October 2001. Since that time, the facility has produced Backhoe Loaders, Skid Steer Loaders, Excavators and now Wheel Loaders and Forklifts. In addition, NMO currently stocks utility imports from Germany and Japan. NMO has approximately 150 employees and provides a safe and environmentally friendly workplace.

Peoria Manufacturing Operation (Mining Division) (Peoria, IL)

The Mining Division of KAC, headquartered in Peoria, Illinois, is an ISO 9001-certified facility that houses the full complement of business activities at its location, including research and development, marketing, sales and product support activities along with a large manufacturing facility.

The Mining Division itself employs over 700 employees, most of whom are located in Peoria. Komatsu is the world’s foremost supplier of electric-drive trucks, and Peoria is the “mother plant” for Komatsu for the manufacture of these exceptionally large (up to 360 ton payload), off-road dump trucks used in mining applications around the world. The Peoria facility produced and shipped over 400 trucks in fiscal 2008. The Mining Division also sells and supports mining support equipment such as bulldozers, excavators and wheel loaders that are produced at other Komatsu facilities worldwide.

Ripley Parts Operations (Ripley, TN)

The Ripley Parts Operations opened June 1991 and began receiving parts in its Master Parts Distribution Center in August 1991. The facility provides exceptional parts availability and responsive customer service while maintaining efficient and cost effective distribution. A staff of 278 employees is committed to maintaining state-of-the-art order processing, inventory management, and fast, accurate shipping of service parts to customers worldwide. It provides parts service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year. The facility has 584,000 sq. ft. warehouse space, 75,000 sq. ft. of mezzanine, 150,000 sq. ft. outdoor storage and 45,000 sq. ft. of office space.
