The Komatsu America Corp. (KAC) Headquarters is located in Chicago, Illinois. Departments represented at this location include, but are not limited to, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, IT, Legal, Parts, Product Marketing, Tax, Treasury, Komatsu Financial, Sales and Service. Komatsu has a strong belief in the importance of collaborating cross functionally and employees located in Chicago often work with departments in our other locations.

Our Headquarters has approximately 250 employees within a two building office complex that offers such amenities as a health club, cafeteria, and dry cleaner.

Arizona Proving Grounds (Sahuarita, AZ)

The Arizona Proving Grounds is located in Sahuarita, Arizona. AZPG operates on 660 acres of leased Mine property to perform engineering tests and activities on our products, primarily the rigid chassis mining trucks. The Arizona Proving Grounds is responsible for analyzing every component on prototype machines before they go to production. The Proving Grounds evaluates model changes and investigates customer problems. Proving Grounds personnel are responsible for engineering field tests at customer sites worldwide.

Chattanooga Manufacturing Operations (Chattanooga, TN)

The Chattanooga Manufacturing plant opened in February of 1985 establishing Chattanooga's first Japanese manufacturing plant. We produce medium size Hydraulic Excavators, Articulated Dump Trucks and Forestry equipment. The facility is also home for the United States Technical Center for new state-of-the-art product design and development.

The Chattanooga Manufacturing Operation's success is founded upon a philosophy that includes not only the manufacture of high quality and competitive products to achieve maximum customer satisfaction. It focuses special attention also on our people, and upon increasing involvement in, and support of, many different worthwhile areas in the life of the community of which we are a part. Our sponsorship of an exhibit in the world-acclaimed Tennessee Aquarium is only one example.

Cartersville Customer Center (Cartersville, GA)

The Komatsu Training and Demonstration Center is a state-of-the-art training and demonstration facility conveniently located 35 miles from Atlanta, GA and 75 miles from our manufacturing facility in Chattanooga, TN. It houses 5 classrooms, a 150 seat auditorium, 20,000 sq. ft. shop, and a 35-acre demonstration center.

Komatsu Newberry Manufacturing Operation (Newberry, SC)

Newberry Manufacturing Operation (NMO), located in Newberry SC, conducted the groundbreaking ceremony in March 2001. The facility produces Wheel Loaders and Forklifts. NMO has approximately 200 employees and provides a safe and environmentally friendly workplace.

Peoria Manufacturing Operation - Mining Division (Peoria, IL)

The Mining Division of KAC, headquartered in Peoria, Illinois, is an ISO 9001-certified facility that houses the full complement of business activities at its location, including research and development, marketing, sales and product support activities along with a large manufacturing facility.

The Mining Division itself employs over 700 employees, most of whom are located in Peoria. Komatsu is the world’s foremost supplier of electric-drive trucks, and Peoria is the “mother plant” for Komatsu for the manufacture of these exceptionally large (up to 400 ton payload), off-road dump trucks used in mining applications around the world. The Mining Division also sells and supports mining support equipment such as bulldozers, excavators and wheel loaders that are produced at other Komatsu facilities worldwide.

Ripley Parts Operation (Ripley, TN)

The Ripley Parts Operation (RPO) opened June 1991 and began receiving parts in its Master Parts Distribution Center in August 1991. The facility provides exceptional parts availability and responsive customer service while maintaining efficient and cost effective distribution. RPO staff is committed to maintaining state-of-the-art order processing, inventory management, and fast, accurate shipping of service parts to customers worldwide. It provides parts service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year. The facility has 650,000 sq. ft. warehouse space, 150,000 sq. ft. outdoor storage and 64,000 sq. ft. of office space.

Komatsu Forklift U.S.A. markets, sells, and provides aftermarket support for Komatsu branded forklifts from its Chicago headquarters to the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Latin American countries. Komatsu forklifts are sold and serviced by a dedicated dealer network with over 200 locations within the regions they serve. Products include both engine powered and battery powered forklifts with capacities ranging from 3,000 to 35,000 lbs.

Komatsu Forklift U.S.A. owns and operates Komatsu Forklift Retail Operations in four key markets across the United States. These full service factory owned dealerships provide their customers with a comprehensive range of forklift sales, service, parts, rentals and aftermarket support. As full service material handling dealerships, these facilities provide turnkey material handling solutions for their customers and the aftermarket support required to keep their Komatsu equipment up and running at peak productivity levels.

Komatsu America Industries (Chicago, IL)

Komatsu America Industries (Industrial Machine Operation) sells and services small and medium-size mechanical presses as well as AC Servo stamping presses.  Small and medium size presses are used to stamp and form all varieties of parts.  AC Servo presses offer the highest precision stampings with accuracies measured in microns.  Large size presses are used in the production of automobile body parts such as roofs and doors. Komatsu’s presses and machine tools are also used to make parts for personal computers, home electric appliances, building materials and non-metal parts for the medical and aerospace industries. We also provide sales and service of fine plasma and laser machines that are used to cut sheet metal and steel plates. The Twister brand fine plasma features many automatic operation settings to greatly improve part quality and increase production efficiencies.
